In the present case, we are of the view that the petitioner should be relegated to alternative remedy of filing statutory appeal before the Deputy Inspector General of Police in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from date. In the event such an appeal is filed the Deputy Inspector General of Police is directed to pass a reasoned order within a period of eight weeks from the date of filing of said appeal after granting an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. 3.
