Heard Sri Sricharan Telaprolu, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Women Development and Child Welfare appearing for the respondents. 2. The grievance of the petitioner is that the 2nd respondent has not passed final orders on the application dated 01.03.2025 of the petitioner under Section 23 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 (hereinafter referred as to ‘the Act’). 3.
It is contended that, pursuant to the said application, notices were issued to the respondents, calling for their explanation and appearance. Accordingly, the respondents appeared in pursuance of the said notices, reports were called for from the Tahsildar. In compliance with the same, the petitioner appeared before the Tahsildar on 02.06.2025 and submitted his explanation. Subsequently, the Tahsildar submitted a report; however, no final order was passed. Seeking the expeditious disposal of the application, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 28.09.2025 to the 2nd respondent. Despite the same, the 2nd respondent has not considered the petitioner’s application. Hence, the instant writ petition has been filed. 4. Petitioner is aged 83 years. To avail the protection under the provisions of the Act, the petitioner has approached the designated authority/Tribunal

under the Act, the Tribunal is under an obligation to pass the order in a time bound manner. Having regard to the same, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on the application dated 01.03.2025 filed by the petitioner under the provisions of Section 23 of the Act, as expeditiously as possible, not later than four (04) weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. 5. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
