Petitioner claims to have been allotted a shop by the Nagar Panchayat, Azamgarh and according to the petitioner there is some vacant land behind his shop. An application has been moved for allotment of such vacant land in favour of the petitioner. 2. The prayer is opposed by the learned Standing Counsel. 3. In the event, any vacant piece of land is to be allotted to anyone, the concerned State Authorities are expected to follow a transparent procedure. As an when the land is advertised for allotment, it shall be open for the petitioner to take part. Without following any procedure, we would not be justified in conferring jurisdiction upon the concerned authority to allot land to the petitioner. 4.
