The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Bilaspur, District- Bilaspur (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 09.09.2025 has requested for grant of three months time for concluding the trial. 5. It transpires from the perusal of the PUD that in the present case, the statement of Prosecution Witness No.01 (Investigating Officer) is yet to be recorded. For securing the presence of the witnesses, summons/bailable warrants have been issued through the Nodal Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Headquarters, Bilaspur. However, due to the absence of witnesses, unnecessary delay is being caused in the proceedings. Since the witnesses are not appearing on time, it is pertinent to mention that a total of 273 NDPS cases are pending before the competent Court, out of which 52 cases are time-bound matters, for the disposal of which continuous efforts are being made. Therefore, it is respectfully submitted that a period of three months is required for the final disposal of the present case. Hence, this request is being humbly placed for extension of the prescribed time limit. 6. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of three month from today. 7. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 8. Registry is directed to send a certified copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/- (Ramesh Sinha) Chief Justice Kunal
