Mr. Datta, the learned advocate representing alleged contemnor no.1, submits that in compliance with the order dated 20th July 2023, alleged violation of which is the subject matter of the contempt petition, a calculation was made, which reveals that a total sum of Rs. 5,69,055/- is due and payable to the petitioner as subsistence allowance. He has presented a cheque for Rs. 2,25,000/- (Cheque No. 064281, dated 3rd March, 2025), drawn on the Birbhum District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd., Bolpur Branch, Station Road, which has been handed over to the Ld. Advocate representing the petitioner in Court today. Mr. Datta further submits, upon instructions that the remaining balance of the subsistence allowance will be paid within two months from this date. He also informs the Court that the authority has decided to revoke the order of suspension that was previously issued against the present petitioner. Since the order has been substantially complied with, this Court is not inclined to proceed with the contempt application any further. The Rule stands discharged and the contempt application, being WPCRC 74 of 2024 is, accordingly, disposed of. (Partha Sarathi Chatterjee, J.) 2
