The present contempt application has been filed pleading willful disobedience of the order dated 28.10.2023 passed by this Court in Writ - C No.36957 of 2023. It transpires from the records annexed with the contempt application that in pursuance to the order dated 28.10.2023 passed by this Court, the authorities have already decided the claim of the applicant. In the decision, they have rejected the claim of the applicant for interest on the principal amount. The counsel for the applicant states that the order has not been passed by the authorities in accordance with the observations made by this Court in its order dated 28.10.2023 passed in Writ C No.36957 of 2023. The argument touches the merit and legality of the orders passed by the authorities and cannot be adjudicated in proceedings under the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971. The applicant has the remedy to challenge the same before the appropriate authority/forum. The application is dismissed.
