1. Heard Mr. Aishwarya Pratap Shahi, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent No.1 and Mr. Shrawan Kumar Tripathi, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent Nos.2 to 4.
2. This is a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India wherein the writ petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondent authorities in providing a new electricity connection at her residential premises situated at Gram Parasir, Post Umariya Pandey, District Sant Kabir Nagar.
3. Upon considering the submissions of the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the parties and perusing the documents, it is clear that an electricity connection was granted in favour of the petitioner by the Electricity Department. It is also not disputed that when the Electricity Department went to install the electric connection, the same was resisted by certain private persons who are residing adjacent to the house of the petitioner. The Electricity Department has also lodged a first information report against those persons.
4. In light of the above, the Electricity Department is directed to take the assistance of the District Magistrate and the Police authorities to ensure that the electric connection is granted to the petitioner within a period of three weeks from date.
5. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. Order Date :- 30.4.2025 Rakesh (Dr. Y.K. Srivastava, J.) (Shekhar B. Saraf, J.) Digitally signed by :- RAKESH MEHTA High Court of Judicature at Allahabad
