ORAL ORDER
Sri.Neelendra D.Gunde., counsel for the petitioner and Sri.Praveen K.Uppar, AGA for respondents have appeared in person.
2. The order dated 13.01.2025 passed by the second respondent under Section 55 of the Karnataka Police Act, 1963 is called in question in this writ petition on several grounds as setout in the Memorandum of Writ Petition.
3. Counsel for the respective parties urged several contentions. Counsel for the petitioner has placed reliance on the following case.
AMBADAS V/S. STATE OF KARNATAKA reported in ILR 1987 KAR 1481.
4. Heard the arguments and perused the Writ papers with care.
5. As against the order passed under Section 55 of the Karnataka Police Act, 1963, there is an alternate and statutory

remedy of filing an appeal under Section 59 of the Karnataka Police Act, 1963. Hence, I decline to exercise power under writ jurisdiction. Counsel for the petitioner has cited a case, but I do not think that the law is in doubt. Each case turns on its facts. The present case is also tested in light of the aforesaid order.
6. Resultantly, the Writ petition is dismissed.
