The petitioner has filed this petition seeking the following relief(s):- “i.That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent authorities to issue appointment order in favour of the petitioner on the post of Food Inspector, being the Utkrishit Khiladi -2- (Distinguished player) of Basketball. ii. That this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondents to grant proper seniority to the petitioner on the post of Food Inspector. iii. Cost of the petition may also be granted to the petitioner. iv. Any other relief, which this Hon'ble Court deems fit and proper, may also kindly be granted to the petitioner, in the interest of justice.” 2. Mr. Shrivastava, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was conferred with the award of Utkrishta Khiladi (Distinguished Player) by the State of Chhattisgarh vide Notification dated 09.11.2011 for Basketball Player. He would further submit that the petitioner moved an application before the respondent authorities for appointment to the post of Food Inspector. It is contended that her name was considered and she was asked to submit her eligibility credentials before the respondent authorities for verification. It is argued that the petitioner submitted all the relevant documents but till date, no decision has been taken. He would also submit that according to the scheme as annexed along with the return, 2% post should be reserved for distinguished players. 3. On the other hand, Mr. Prajapati, the learned Panel Lawyer appearing for the State would oppose the submissions made by Mr. Shrivastava. He would submit that in the year 2013, an application was moved by the petitioner whereas, in that particular year, posts were not available, therefore, the application of the petitioner could not be considered. 4. Heard learned Advocates appearing for the parties and perused 3 the documents placed on the record. 5. Taking into consideration the fact that no decision has been taken on the application moved by the petitioner, without commenting anything on the merits of the case, the respondent authorities are directed to take appropriate steps on the application of the petitioner for appointment to the post of Food Inspector within a period of 120 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.
