1 2025:CGHC:46229 NAFR HIGH COURT OF CHHATTISGARH AT BILASPUR CRMP No. 2836 of 2025 Balram Mandal S/o Dukhi Ram Mandal Aged About 31 Years R/o M.V. 48, Malkangiri, District- Malkangiri Orissa ... Applicant(s) versus State Of Chhattisgarh Through P.S. Kukanaar, District - Sukma (C.G.) ... Non-applicant(s) For Applicant : None For Non-applicant : Mr. Amit Verma, Panel Lawyer. Hon'ble Shri Ramesh Sinha , Chief Justice Order on Board 10.09. 2025 1. This is an office reference. 2. This Court, vide order dated 19.02.2025, passed in MCRC No. 756 of 2025, while allowing the bail to the applicant, namely, Balram Mandal had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order, if there was no legal impediment. 3. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), South Bastar Dantewada, District-South Bastar Dantewada (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 19.08.2025 has requested for grant of one month time for concluding the KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN 2 trial. 4. It transpires from perusal of the PUD that in the present case, the statements of a total of 10 prosecution witnesses are to be recorded, out of which the statements of 07 witnesses have already been recorded. For summoning the remaining 03 prosecution witnesses, an order is being issued through the Superintendent of Police, Sukma. Since the remaining witnesses are posted in a Naxal-affected area, there has been a delay in securing their presence. Despite making sufficient efforts to summon the remaining witnesses, their evidence could not be recorded. It is likely that recording the evidence of the remaining witnesses will take more time. For these reasons, it has not been possible to conclude the case within the stipulated time frame and it is prayed that one month time be kindly extended. 5. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of one month from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 6. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 7. Registry is directed to send a certified copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/- (Ramesh Sinha) Chief Justice Kunal
