Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC:69069 Court No. - 76 Case :- MATTERS UNDER ARTICLE 227 No. - 3766 of 2025 Petitioner :- Sanjay Kumar Vishwakarma And 3 Others Respondent :- State of U.P. and Another Counsel for Petitioner :- Chandra Prakash Pal Counsel for Respondent :- G.A. Hon'ble Vinod Diwakar,J. 1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioners, learned A.G.A. for the State, and perused the record. 2. The present petition has been preferred by the petitioners seeking to give effect to the order dated 03.03.2025 passed by the Court of Civil Judge (Junior Division)/Judge, Crimes Against Women, Jaunpur, in Criminal Case No. 677 of 2007, Computer Case No. UPJP040018382007 (State v. Sanjay Kumar Vishwakarma and Others), annexed as Annexure No.1 to the petition. 3. It is evident from the record that the discharge application filed by the petitioners in the aforesaid matter was dismissed as far back as in the year 2013. The present petition has been filed after an inordinate and unexplained delay of nearly twelve years. No satisfactory justification for such prolonged delay has been offered by the petitioners. The petition is evidently a belated attempt to reopen settled proceedings, and suffers from gross laches. 4. In view of the above, this Court finds no good ground to exercise its inherent jurisdiction under Article 227 of the Constitution of India. 5. The instant petition is devoid of merits, and is accordingly dismissed on the ground of delay as well as on merits. Order Date :- 1.5.2025 A.N. Mishra (Vinod Diwakar,J.) Digitally signed by :- AMARNATH MISHRA High Court of Judicature at Allahabad
