FIR is registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by respondent No.2, against accused Nos.1 to 3 namely the Husband, Mother-in-law and Sister-in-law for the offence punishable under Section 85, 115(2), 352, 351 (2), 3(5) of BNS 2023. The investigation in this case is pending. 3. As per complaint averments, the marriage of 2nd respondent with accused No.1 took place on 24.05.2024 at one Pai Resort in Belagavi. After the marriage, she started residing in her matrimonial house in Bangalore along with her husband, mother-in-law and sister-in-law. It is alleged that she was subjected to physical and mental torture in her matrimonial home. 4. It is contended by the learned counsel for the petitioners that insofar as these petitioners, the entire - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:48238 CRL.P No. 10820 of 2025 allegations are false and the ingredients of the offences alleged or not made. 5. This petition is preferred by the mother-in-law and sister-in-law of 2nd respondent. Since the investigation is pending, this Court is not inclined to stall the investigation or express any opinion on the merits of the case. The police have to conduct a fair investigation and file an appropriate report. 6. If any adverse report is filed against the petitioners, they are at liberty to challenge the same before this Court. 7. With the said observation, petition is disposed of.
