In that view of the matter, these Writ Appeals are disposed of with a direction to the respondents to pay compensation to the appellants, for the loss of the lands, assigned to them, in accordance with the judgment of the larger bench of the erstwhile High Court of Andhra Pradesh in L.A.O – Cum- Revenue Divisional Officer, Chevella Division vs. Mekala Pandu & Ors., 1. However, the interest for the period between the date of payment of exgratia amounts to the date on which the writ petitions have been filed shall be excluded. It is also clarified that the said compensation has to be calculated as per the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894. There shall be no order as to costs.
