The petitioner has filed the present petition inter alia praying that respondents be directed to take concrete steps for stopping the leakage of water and for development of the lake called "Dr. Channabasava Pattaddevara Kere" situated on Kamalanagar-Madanura Road, Kamalanagar Town, Bidar District [Lake in question] and consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.3.2024. 4. The petitioner states the Public Works Department has constructed the Lake in question for addressing the issue of water shortage in the area. He states that some time in the year 2013, a crack developed on the lake bed, because of which, the water started leaking from the lake in question. He also claims that the Irrigation Department has sanctioned large amount for repair and development of the lake in question. But, the lake in question has not been repaired and rejuvenated. 5. In the aforesaid context, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 11.03.2024 requesting the - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:28943-DB WP No. 29933 of 2024 respondents to develop the lake in question and also canals from the said lake so that any leakage of the water is stopped. 6. Learned Additional Government Advocate appearing for respondents does not controvert the submission that if the Public Works Department has constructed the facilities, it is also necessary for it to ensure its maintenance. 7. In the given circumstances, we dispose of the present petition directing the concerned respondents to examine the petitioner's representation and issues flagged in the present petition. And, subject to the feasibility, to take such steps as necessary. 8. The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
