The grievance of the petitioners is that the respondents have not considered the application submitted by the petitioner on 23.09.2024 seeking compassionate appointment of the 2nd petitioner herein. It is contended that the 1st petitioner’s husband died on 08.10.2023 while he was working as a driver in the 6th respondent Depot under the 2nd respondent. The 1st petitioner filed an application seeking the appointment of the petitioner’s elder son as a conductor on compassionate grounds. In pursuance of the application made by the petitioner, the respondents have informed that the petitioner’s elder son was provisionally selected for the post of Assistant Mechanic and that his name was subsequently removed from the selection list on medical grounds. Thereafter, the 1st petitioner requested the 2nd 4 KM, J WP No. 32359 of 2025 respondent-Corporation to appoint her second son, who had passed the SSC. It is contended that though she made representations to the 2nd respondent corporation on several occasions, i.e., on 20.05.2024, 17.08.2024, 23.09.2024 and 14.12.2024, the respondent Corporation had not yet passed any order nor did they inform the petitioner. 3. It is contended that the 2nd respondent corporation has not considered the representations made by the petitioners. The petitioners’ entire family is deprived, and they find it very difficult to maintain themselves. Thus, the petitioner prays for a direction to consider the representations to appoint the petitioner’s eldest son / 2nd petitioner herein on compassionate grounds in any post suitable to his educational qualifications. 4. Having regard to the contentions advanced, this Court deems it is appropriate to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the 2nd respondent to pass appropriate orders on the representations dated 20.05.2024, 17.08.2024, 23.09.2024 and 14.12.2024 filed by the petitioners, within a period of six (06) weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. 5 KM, J WP No. 32359 of 2025 5. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
