Applicant(s) Vs 1. nil nil Respondent(s) For Applicant Mr.D.Lingeswaran, AG&OT ORDER This application is filed by learned AG&OT seeking permission to purchase medical equipments at a total cost of Rs.18,53,925/- from M/s.R.K.Medequips having office at Old No.3, New No.5, 91 st Street, Ashok Nagar, Chennai-83 and to make part payment of Rs.11,00,000/- from the https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis A No. 1600 of 2025 accumulated funds that corresponds to FY 2019-20 which belong to Trust estate of Mylai Kandappa Arunchala Chetty Charities for donating the same to Government Hospital at Tiruvallur. 2.In the report filed by learned AG&OT, it is stated that Mr.M.Prathap, IAS, District Collector of Tiruvallur District, has forwarded a request from District Health Officer, Tiruvallur District on 12.03.2025 seeking donation of certain medical equipments to the Hospitals at Tiruvallur, Pazhaverkadu [Pulicut] and Pallipattu. The equipments requested for the three hospitals are essential to provide emergency health care and rapid response in critical situation. The equipment suggested by the District Collector would help in treating patients bitten by snakes and save their lives. Strengthening hospitals in rural areas will have an impact and motivation for lot of people who are philanthropists. 3.Providing medical services required by the District Collector will certainly upgrade the rural hospitals. The rate contract has been fixed by https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis A No. 1600 of 2025 M/s.Tamil Nadu Medical Sergices Corporation Limited which is the authorised Concern. The quotation received from the suppliers of machines / equipments suggest that the equipments will be of much helpful and will serve people in rural areas of Tiruvallur District. 4.Considering the facts that are available in the report of learned AG&OT, this Court is convinced that permission sought for to purchase medical equipments as prayed for, is purely in public interest and the installation of equipments will cater to the need of several visiting public to the hospitals.
