1. The petitioner has filed the present petition inter-alia praying that directions be issued to the respondents to consider the petitioner’s representation dated 04.09.2025. A copy of which has been annexed as Annexure-A.
2. The petitioner had filed an application for a quarry lease [EQL No.370/2004-05] on 14.02.2005. He claimed that he had also paid a sum of `7,500/- towards security deposit on 14.02.2005. - 3 -

However, there is nothing on record to indicate the fate of the said application. There is also no material to indicate that the petitioner had pursued the said application after 14.02.2005. 3.
The Karnataka Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1994 were amended on 17.03.2023. The petitioner contends that in terms of the amendment, the applications that were pending prior to the commencement of the Karnataka Minor Mineral Concession (Amendment) Rules, 2016 were required to be considered. 4. In the given facts and circumstances of the case, we consider it apposite to dispose of the present petition by directing the concerned authorities to consider the petitioner's representation. We further clarify that nothing stated in this order should be construed as an expression of opinion as to whether the petitioner's application is liable to be considered or not.
