(ORAL) The present criminal writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus by directing respondents No.2 & 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondents. In compliance of order dated 04.04.2025 passed by this Court, the affidavit of Sh. Shatrujeet Kapoor, Director General of Police, Haryana was produced in the Court and the learned State counsel, at the very outset, submits that there is an ongoing dispute between the villagers with regard to possession and usage of property and the same dispute has reached to this Court by way of civil revision petition which is pending before the Coordinate Bench of this Court. The former Sarpanch and the current Sarpanch are supporting the rivalry and as far as the threat perception of the petitioners are concerned, during the inquiry, statements of respondents No.4 to 7 have been recorded and they have specifically stated that they have no objection to the marriage of the petitioners and further, the statement of the petitioners was recorded on Neha 2025.05.13 16:35 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CRWP-3248-2025 -2- 05.03.2024 in which they have also stated that there is no threat to their life and liberty from anyone. The marriage between the petitioners had taken place on 30.01.2024 and more than a year has passed, till date no incident of threatening by respondents No.4 to 7 has been reported to the jurisdictional police authorities. In fact, the petitioners are using this second petition seeking protection, to settle their dispute with regard to usage and possession of the property. Further, the phone numbers of the concerned police officers have already been provided to the petitioners so that they can contact the police officers in case of any imminent threat or danger to their life and liberty.
In view of the specific stand taken by the learned State counsel, no further directions are required to be passed and the present petition is disposed of accordingly.
