SUBRAMANIAM, J.,] The learned Special Government Pleader would submit that pursuant to the order against which the contempt petition has been instituted as well as subsequent orders passed by another Hon’ble Division Bench of this Court in W.P.No.42445 of 2025, enforcement action has been initiated and a notice under Section 7 of “the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905 (Tamil Nadu Act III of 1905)” {hereinafter “1905 Act” for the sake of brevity} has been issued by affording an opportunity to the encroachers. Thereafter, a final notice under Section 6 of 1905 Act was issued. He would further submit that on account of the forthcoming Assembly Elections, the authorities were unable to proceed with the removal of encroachments. However, on instructions, the learned Special Government Pleader would submit that encroachments will be removed within a period of four weeks. 2. Recording the said submission, the respondents are directed to remove the encroachments, as undertaken, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
