This Court, vide order dated 07.08.2024 passed in MCRC No. 5585 of 2024, while rejecting the bail to the petitioner, namely, Samuel Manjhi, had expressed its trust that the trial Court would make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of passing of the order, if there was no legal impediment. Earlier on one occasion, also this Court had granted extension of time for compliance of the order dated 07.08.2024 in CRMP No.725 of 2025. 4. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Durg, District - Durg (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 04.07.2025 has requested for grant of three months more time for concluding the trial. 5. It appears from the perusal of the PUD that the evidence of 11 prosecution witnesses has already been completed, only one prosecution witness, namely the Investigating Officer Inspector R.K. Borja, remains to be examined. However, after recording of the prosecution evidence, further stages such as the statement of the accused, hearing of final arguments, and passing of judgment are likely to consume considerable time. Hence, a prayer is made for extension of time in conclusion of the trial. 6. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of three months from today. 7. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 8.
