On the basis of the complaint filed by one Chennabasaveshwara M.S., Tumakuru Lokayukta Police have registered Case against accused 1 and 2 for offence punishable under Section 7(a) of Prevention of Corruption Act (Amended Act) 2018. The present petitioner-Prasad N.S., who is accused No.2, has filed Criminal Miscellaneous Petition No.1889 of 2025 before VII Additional District & Sessions Judge & Special Judge, Tumakuru, seeking grant of bail. The same came to be dismissed on 22nd December 2025. Hence he has filed the present petition seeking grant of regular bail. I have perused the material on record. Taking into consideration the nature and gravity of offence, previous antecedents of the present petitioner (accused No.2), role of the present petitioner in the commission of alleged offence, it is just in proper to allow the petition. Accordingly, I proceed to pass the following: O R D E R i) Petition is allowed; ii) Petitioner shall be released on bail upon executive for Rs.1,00,000 with one surety for the likesum to the satisfaction of the VII Additional District & Sessions Judge and Special Judge, Tumakuru; iii) Petitioner shall not tamper with the prosecution witnesses in any manner; iv) Petitioner shall assist investigating Officer with investigation; v) Petitioner shall not indulge himself in similar offences.
