It is the contention of the petitioner that he filed an application in Form 53 on 17.12.1998 seeking regularization of unauthorized occupation of 2.00 acres of land in Sy.No.22 situated at Doddakuntanahalli village, Bidadi Hobli, Ramangara Taluk and District. It is contended that the Tahsildar, Ramangara Taluk issued an intimation on 22.06.2017 calling upon the petitioner to pay premium. However, it is contended that neither the premium is collected nor saguvali chit is issued in favour of the petitioner. 3. The prayer in the writ petition is to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent No.2 to issue endorsement to pay the calculated premium in respect of the land in question by considering the representation dated 17.10.2023 at Annexure-D. - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:35938 WP No. 6923 of 2025 4. Having regard to the contentions raised in the writ petition and submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court is of the considered opinion that respondent No.2-Tahsildar is the duty bound to place the application filed by the petitioner before the ‘Committee for Regularization of Unauthorized Occupation’ and the Committee is also the duty bound to consider the application and pass necessary orders. 5. Consequently, the writ petition stands disposed of with a specific direction to respondent No.2-Tahsildar, Ramangara Taluk to place the application of the petitioner before the Committee within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. The Committee thereafter shall consider the application and pass necessary orders as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within two months from the date when the application is placed before the Committee.
