JUSTICE ANANT RAMANATH HEGDE ORAL ORDER This petition is filed to quash the FIR in Crime No.387/2025 registered by Byatarayanapura Police Station, Bengaluru City for offences under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Sections 3(1)(r), 3(2)(v-a), 3(1)(w) of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners is present before the Court. Learned counsel for respondent No.2 has filed vakalath and same is taken on record. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:54862 WP No. 39114 of 2025 3. The petitioners and respondent No.2 jointly submit that respondent No.2 has married petitioner No.1. It is submitted that marriage is solemnized on 14.12.2025. 4. The petitioners and respondent No.2 have also filed joint application stating that marriage has taken place on 14.12.2025 as per the Hindu rituals and customs at Sri Mahayaga Kshetra Sri Gayathri Devi Temple, Sri Gayathri Temple Street, Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru. 5. The application is supported by the affidavits of all the parties to the petition. 6. The parties jointly submit that they have voluntarily settled the dispute. 7. Considering the submission and in terms of the law laid down in the aforementioned orders, this Court does not find any impediment to accept the settlement, moreso as accused No.1 has married the complainant. 9. Hence, the following: ORDER (i) Joint Application filed under Section 359 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita is allowed. Consequently, the Writ petition is allowed. (ii) FIR in Crime No.387/2025 dated 15.11.2025 registered by Byatarayanapura Police Station, Bengaluru is quashed. (iii) Bail bond if any, stands cancelled.
