PUBLIC PROSECUTOR 2. 3 THE HONOURABLE DR JUSTICE VENKATA JYOTHIRMAI PRATAPA CRIMINAL PETITION NO: 11303/2025 ORDER: The instant criminal petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (for short ‘Cr.P.C)/under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short ‘BNSS’) has been filed by the petitioner/accused No.2, seeking quashment of the proceedings pending against her in Cr.No.209 of 2025 of Ponnur Town Police Station, Guntur District registered for the offences punishable under Sections 406, 409, 420, 465, 468, 471, 120-b of IPC. 2. Heard Sri C.Subodh, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.K.Priyanka Lakshmi, learned Assistant Public Prosecutor on behalf of the State. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that Police of Ponnur Town Police Station have no jurisdiction to register the crime at Ponnur Town. The entire cause of action arouse in the State of Telangana and simply on the point that the accused is available in Ponnur, by influencing authorities, this false case is lodged against the petitioner. He would further submit that the police of Ponnur Town Police Station are calling the petitioner every day. The alleged transaction took place in the State of Telangana. 4. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor placed on record the written instructions from Sub-Inspector of Ponnur Town Police Station and would 4 submit that as rightly put by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the offence took place in Hyderabad, Telangana and it is within the jurisdiction of Telangana State and Ponnur town Police has no jurisdiction in this matter and the department is taking steps to transfer the said crime to the Telangana State. 5. Recording the same, this Criminal Petition is disposed of.
