GP FOR HOME (AP) The Court made the following: 3 THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE B.V.L.N.CHAKRAVARTHI WRIT PETITION No.10544 of 2019 ORDER: The present Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief: “…to issue a Writ, Order or Direction, more particularly one in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus, declaring the action of the respondents, particularly the 4th respondent, in not discharging their statutory duty of registering a crime based on the complaint given by the petitioner, as arbitrary, illegal, violative of Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution of India, and contrary to the guidelines issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in Lalita Kumari…” 2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri R. Mallikarjuna Rao, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, appearing on behalf of the respondents. 3. The learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, on written instructions, submits that the police did not receive any report from the petitioner as alleged in the writ petition, and therefore, no case was registered. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the writ petition may be closed, granting liberty to the petitioner to present a fresh report before the police in accordance with law. 4 5. Considering the above submissions, the Writ Petition is closed at the stage of admission, without going into the merits of the case. The petitioner is at liberty to present a fresh report before the police in accordance with law.
