Petitioner also seeks direction to the Page No. 1 of 2 16 July 2025 2025:BHC-AS:29337-DB Megha 11_pil_139_2006.docx Respondents to grant benefit of reservation for differently abled persons in promotion. 2) During pendency of the instant PIL, the provisions of the Act of 1995 have been repealed by the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (Act of 2016). 3) Learned AGP, on instructions submits that provisions for reservation in promotion for differently abled persons have been made. 4) In view of the aforesaid development, which has taken place during pendency of the PIL petition, we are inclined to grant leave to the Petitioner to file a petition in case the grievance of the Petitioner still subsists after examining the scheme of the Act of 2016 and the extent of reservation for promotion provided by the Respondent under the Act of 2016. 5) With the aforesaid liberty, the PIL Petition is disposed of. 6) All pending applications stand disposed of.
