It is the case of the petitioner that he has a valid license for transporting varnish, but 50 drums (10,000 litres) of the varnish has been illegally confiscated by the respondent no.2, the Divisional Forest Officer. The petitioner had moved an application for its release before the respondent no.2, the Divisional Forest Officer, but the dates are being adjourned and the matter is not being heard. The petition is disposed of with the request to the respondent no.2, the Divisional Forest Officer, Haldwani, District Nainital, that the application that has been filed by the petitioner for release of the seized varnish be disposed of as expeditiously as possible, in accordance with law.
