The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Baharagora P.S. Case No. 73 of 2024, N.D.P.S. Case No. 11 of 2025, for the offence under Sections 20/22 of the N.D.P.S. Act, subsequently charges were framed under Sections 20(b)(ii)(C)/22(C) of NDPS Act, pending in the court of Sri Sachindra Birua, learned Special Judge (NDPS), at Ghatshila. Bail application of the petitioner was earlier rejected by this Court vide B.A. No. 2792/2025, by order dated 08.04.2025. On 08.11.2024, at about 01:50 p.m., Bahragora Police, on the basis of confidential information, intercepted a pickup van bearing Registration No. OR11D1986 and apprehended this petitioner and accused persons. On search, 20 kgs of cannabis were recovered from the said pickup van. The quantum of seized cannabis comes within the purview of commercial quantity. It was submitted that petitioner is in custody for about thirteen months and the charge has been framed in this case. Considering the nature of allegation, I am not inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is hereby rejected. (Ambuj Nath, J.)
