The petitioners approached this court for setting aside the order dated 26.12.20024 passed by the Commandant, Home Guards, Manipur, striking off their names from the list of Home Guards Personnel. Learned counsel for the petitioners draws attention of this Court to the order dated 14.10.2024 passed by this Court in WP(C) No.399 of 2024 w hereby the State respondents are given four months’ time for consideration of the representation dated 26.2.2024. The subject matter of the representation is enhancement of age of superannuation/retirement of Home Guards. It is submitted that by the impugned order the prayer made in the writ petition has become infructuous. Mr.H.Samarjit, learned Government Advocate submits that the present writ petition is for enhancement of age of superannuation and State respondent has still time till 14.2.2025 for disposal of the representation submitted by the petitioner. Considering the nature of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with the clarification that the State respondents may pass appropriate order in the representation submitted by the petitioner notwithstanding the impugned order and order dated 26.12.2024. Misc case also stands disposed of. Furnish a copy of this order to learned counsel for the parties.
