For Petitioner : Mr.D.Baskar For Respondents : Mr.A.Selvendran Special Government Pleader [R1 to R3] ORDER This writ petition has been filed for issue of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to denotify the land that was acquired from the petitioner through the acquisition proceedings. 2. Heard Mr.D.Baskar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents 1 to 3. 3. It is seen from the records that the acquisition proceedings was put to challenge by the petitioner in the earlier writ petition in W.P.No.11777 of 1983, and the said writ petition came to be dismissed by order dated 03.12.1991. Thereafter, a Division Bench of this Court also confirmed this order in W.A.No.34 of 1992, by an order dated 01.09.1992. All of a sudden, in the year 2025, the petitioner makes a representation stating that the land that was 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.11271 of 2025 acquired from him, was not put to use for any public purpose and therefore, the subject land must be denotified. 4. In the considered view of this Court, the petitioner does not have any legal right to make a representation since the land had already vested with the Government. Hence, without there being a legal right, a mandamus can never be issued by this Court. This Court does not find any merits in this writ petition and accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed.
