JUSTICE SACHIN SHANKAR MAGADUM ORAL ORDER This petition is filed by the sole accused seeking quashing of the proceedings pending in C.C. No. 53501/2018, arising out of Crime No. 724/2016, pending before the XLIII Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Mayohall, Bangalore, for the offences punishable under Sections 420, 464, 467, 468, 471 of IPC. 2. Today, the complainant and the accused are present before this Court and an application - I.A.2/2025 is filed under Section 482 read with Section 320(2) of Cr.P.C. 3. On perusal of the joint memo, it discloses that that the complainant and accused are relatives. Petitioner - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:38603 CRL.P No. 13285 of 2025 is the sister in law of the 2nd respondent. The joint memo also discloses that at the intervention of well-wishers of both parties, they have entered into a memorandum of understanding on 06.09.2025 which is produced along with the petition. Since the civil dispute is amicably resolved, the complainant submits that she has no objection to quash the proceedings. 4. The dispute is essentially civil in nature and now that post registration of crime, memorandum of understanding is entered into between the complainant and accused, followed by joint memo filed before this Court. In view of withdrawal of the allegations and amicable settlement between the complainant and accused, this Court deems it fit to quash the proceedings. It is also noticed that all the offences are compoundable. Therefore, the parties are permitted to compound the offences. 5. Accordingly, this Court passes the following: - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:38603 CRL.P No. 13285 of 2025 ORDER i) I.A.2/2025 is allowed. Consequently, the petition is allowed. ii) The proceedings pending in C.C. No. 53501/2018, arising out of Crime No. 724/2016, pending before the XLIII Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Mayohall, Bangalore, for the offences punishable under Sections 420, 464, 467, 468, 471 of IPC, insofar as they relate to the petitioner, are hereby quashed.
