This Court, vide order dated 09.08.2024, passed in MCRC No. 5654 of 2024, while allowing the bail to the petitioner, namely, Sankat Mochan Rai, had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of the order, if there was no legal impediment. Earlier on occasion also, this Court had granted extension of time for conclusion of the trial vide order dated 03.02.2025 in CRMP No. 416/2025. 4. The learned Special Judge (PC Act), Ambikapur, District – Surguja (C.G.) through the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Surguja at Ambikapur (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 10.07.2025 has requested for grant of 4 months’ time for concluding the trial. 5. It transpires from perusal of the PUD, that the present case is at the stage of recording of the prosecution witness, and evidence of 12 witnesses have been recorded and the evidence of Investigating Officer and one other witness are yet to be examined. Hence, trial is likely to take some time for its conclusion. Hence, he prays for grant of 4 months’ time for concluding the trial. 6. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of four months from today. 7. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 8.
