1. This is an ofÏce reference.
2. This Court, vide order dated 14.06.2024, passed in MCRC No. 3757 of 2024, while rejecting the bail to the applicant, namely, Sushil Selma, had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order, if there was no legal impediment.
3. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Raipur, District-Raipur, (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 20.12.2024 has requested for grant of KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN
2 six months time for concluding the trial.
4. It transpires from perusal of the PUD, that in the present case, the statements of 07 prosecution witnesses have been recorded and the statement of 06 prosecution witnesses are yet to be recorded. Considering the number of witnesses, it is likely to take some time for concluding the trial. Hence, he prays for grant of further six months time for concluding the trial.
5. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is
directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of six months from today.
6. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction.
7. Registry is directed to send a certified copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/-
