Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that an application has been submitted by the petitioner before the competent authority seeking remission in sentence. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner has been punished for the offence under Sections 147, 148, 450, 450/149, 302 and 307 IPC and he has been sentenced to undergo life imprisonment. Learned (2 of 2) [CRLW-1382/2025] counsel submits that after completing sufficient sentence, an application has been submitted seeking remission in sentence, but till date the same has not been decided by the competent authority, so directions be issued to the authority concerned to decide the pending application expeditiously within a time frame. 4. Considering the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the instant criminal writ petition stands disposed of with the expectation from the competent authority to decide the application (pending, if any) expeditiously, as early as possible, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order by passing a reasoned and speaking order. 5. Needless to observe, this Court has not issued any direction to the authority to decide the application of the petitioner in a particular way. The authority concerned would be at liberty to decide the same strictly in accordance with law. 6. All applications (pending, if any) also stand disposed of. (ANOOP KUMAR DHAND),J Karan/120
