4. Petitioner appeared in preliminary examination of Combined State Civil Service / Upper Subordinate Service Examination-2012. Since, he was declared unsuccessful and was not called for mains examination, therefore, he filed this writ petition in the year 2016, seeking the following reliefs:
“(a) Issue, Writ, Order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent no. 2 to include the name of petitioner in the select list prepared for main examination after the preliminary examination of Combined State Civil Services/Upper Subordinate Service Examination- 2012
(b) Issue, Writ, Order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent no. 2 to permit the petitioner to appear in the main examination scheduled to be held in between 31-01- 2016 to 03-02-2016 of Combined State Civil Services/Upper Subordinate Service Examination – 2012”

5. By an interim order dated 08.01.2016, Coordinate Bench permitted the petitioner to appear in the mains examination.
6. Mr. Pankaj Miglani,
learned counsel appearing for Uttarakhand Public Service Commission submits that pursuant to the interim
order passed by Coordinate Bench, petitioner was permitted to appear in the mains examination, however, he could not qualify the Hindi examination, which is compulsory for every candidate to qualify. Thus, he submits that no relief can be granted to the petitioner since he could not clear the Hindi paper in the mains examination.
7. In view of the statement made by learned counsel appearing for the Commission, we do not find any reason to interfere in the matter.
8. The writ petition fails and is dismissed.
