Mr. L.N.Sharma, learned Additional Advocate General, appears and waives service of notice on behalf of the respondents. 2. With the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the matter is heard at this stage. 3. Petitioner’s father Sh. Prakash Chand was serving as Beldar in the respondent-Public Works Department. He died in harness on 18.05.2014. The respondents prepared the case for employment on compassionate grounds in favour of petitioner’s brother 1 Whether reporters of print and electronic media may be allowed to see the order? Yes. 2 Sh. Naresh Kumar s/o late Sh. Parkash Chand. It appears that petitioner’s mother Smt. Machani Devi w/o late Sh.Parkash Chand represented against employing her son Sh. Naresh Kumar on compassionate ground. Thereafter, said Sh. Naresh Kumar S/o late Sh. Parkash Chand filed an application before the respondents on 26.12.2018 expressing his unwillingness for employment on compassionate grounds. Subsequent thereto, the petitioner applied for compassionate employment. His case was processed by the respondents as is apparent from Annexures P-10 & P-11, however, final decision has not been taken thereon. The petitioner now seeks directions to the respondents to consider his case for employment on compassionate grounds in accordance with applicable policy within time bound schedule. Learned Additional Advocate General is not averse to this prayer. 4. Having regard to the afore-submissions, but without examining the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents/ competent authority to consider and decide the case of the petitioner in accordance with applicable policy within a period of six weeks from today. The decision so arrived at shall also be communicated to the petitioner. 3 The writ petition stands disposed of in the above terms, so also the pending miscellaneous application(s), if any.
