Petitioner has been made an accused in connection with Barhi P.S. in Case No.361/2024 registered under Sections 80(1), 238/61 (2)/3 (5) of the B.N.S. 2023, pending in the court of learned S.D.J.M., Hazaribagh. Petitioner happens to be the brother-in-law of the deceased Priti Kumari, who was strangulated to death in her matrimonial home within four months of her marriage. It is alleged that she was tortured to enforce the demand of rupees 2 lakh and Apache motorcycle. It further appears that before being strangulating to death she was subjected to physical torture due to which one of her eye was also damaged. Learned lawyer for the petitioner after going through the case diary submitted that there is specific allegation against all the accused persons that they had tortured the deceased before strangulating her.
