1. This writ petition has been preferred under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking following reliefs:
“10.1 That, the Hon'ble Court may kindly allow the petition and the respondent may be directed to decide the application made by the petitioner before them for renewal of the gun license of the petitioner and issue him a valid renewed licence so that he can again protect himself in the interest of justice.
10.2. That, this Hon'ble Court may also direct the respondents to provide a gun man to the petitioner, if necessary, till the final disposal of the application of renewable of gun license of the petitioner. And, decide the application of the renewal of the gun license made by the petitioner, arbitrarily and in a discriminatory manner and not act in a illegal manner and act according to the provisions of law.
10.3. Any other relief which deemed fit and proper may also be issued looking to the facts and circumstances of the case and looking to the interest of the petitioner.”
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that this writ petition may be
disposed of with a direction to the concerned respondent-authority to consider and decide the pending application/representation of the petitioner dated 28.02.2024 (Annexure P-4) in accordance with law/rules within any specified time frame. 3.Learned counsels appearing for the respondents submit that they are having no objection to the limited prayer made by counsel for the petitioner. 4.Heard learned counsel for the parties. 5.Considering facts of the case, nature of relief, submissions of counsel for the parties, this writ petition is disposed of at this stage directing the concerned respondent-authority to consider and decide the pending
3 / 3 application/representation of the petitioner in accordance with relevant rule/law/regulation preferably within an outer limit of ‘06 months’ from the date of receipt of this order.
6.However, it is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case.
