1. By this petition, petitioner-herein is seeking direction upon respondents to grant permission for the commencement of commercial production in consonance with Rule 54 of Arms Rules, 2016, with a further direction upon the respondents to adjudicate upon the various applications filed by the petitioner seeking permission from the official respondents with regard to the commencement of commercial production as the petitioner has completed all the requisite formalities as stipulated in Rule 54 of the Arms Rules, 2016.
2. It is stated by the counsel representing the petitioner that the petitioner company is a registered company, and its registered office is situated in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Petitioner-company has completed all the formalities as stipulated in the procedure and has time and again requested the official respondents to grant the petitioner-company the permission for the commencement of the commercial production, however, the official respondents, for the reasons best known to them, are reluctant to Sr. No. 129

adjudicate upon the applications filed by the petitioner and have till date not taken any decision in respect of the same.

Mr. Sachin Gupta, learned counsel states that petitioner-company would feel satisfied if, the instant petition is disposed of with direction to the respondents to consider various applications filed by the petitioner seeking permission with respect to commencement of commercial production in terms of Rule 54 of Arms Rules, 2016.
4. On the other hand, Mr. Vishal Sharma, learned DSGI states that he is not averse to the proposition being made by the counsel for the petitioner.

Be that as it may, since the prayer of the petitioner is innocuous, this petition is disposed of at the threshold with a direction to the respondents to consider various applications filed by the petitioner-company strictly in accordance with rules and law applicable, within a period of two months’ time from the date a certified copy of this order is served upon the respondents.
