Neutral Citation No. (2025:JHHC:32738) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No. 9819 of 2025 XXX … Petitioner - Versus - The State of Jharkhand … Opp. Party ------ CORAM: - HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE AMBUJ NATH ----- For the Petitioner : Mr. R. S. Mazumdar, Sr. Advocate : Mr. Nishant Roy, Advocate For the State : Mr. P. K. Chatterjee, Spl. P.P. --- 02/31.10.2025 Heard the parties. Petitioner has been made an accused in connection with Pratappur P.S. Case No. 59/2024, Corresponding to POCSO Case No. 42/2024 registered for the alleged offence committed under sections 366/376/494/506 of the Indian Penal Code and charge has been framed under Sections 366, 376(2)(f), 494, 506 of the I.P.C. and Section 4 of the POCSO Act, pending in the Court of learned District and Additional Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge (POCSO), Chatra. Bail application of the petitioner was earlier rejected by this Court vide B.A. No.2223 of 2025 by order dated 20.03.2025. It is alleged that on 20.05.2024, at about 10:00 A.M., the petitioner is alleged to have raped the victim. It was submitted that out of 10 prosecution witnesses, 6 witnesses including the victim have been examined. Considering the nature of allegation, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail stands rejected. Learned trial court shall expedite the trial and conclude the same within six months. (Ambuj Nath, J.) October 31, 2025 Jay/-
