UNNI KRISHNAN NAIR ORDER 17/08/2026 Heard Mr. H R Choudhury, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. R Gogoi, learned Standing counsel, PHE Department and Mr. R K Talukdar, learned Standing counsel, Accountant General (A&E), Assam. 2. The petitioner in the present writ petition, who is the wife of Late Md. Abdul Khalique, who passed on, on 04.04.2020, has prayed for a direction upon the respondent authorities for authorizing to her compassionate family pension w.e.f. the date of the death of her husband. 3. This Court had directed the PHE authorities to prepare a pension proposal in favour of the petitioner and to forward the same to the office of the Accountant General (A&E), Assam. The Accountant General was, thereafter, directed to process the said proposal and to issue the Family Pension Payment Order/Gratuity Payment Order to the petitioner. 4. Today, Mr. Talukdar, learned Standing counsel, Accountant General (A&E), Assam has placed on record the Family Pension Payment Order, bearing No. 921314320598 dated 11.08.2026 and GPO No. 31232059826 dated 11.08.2026 issued to the petitioner. 5. It is submitted that the petitioner has been authorized a compassionate family pension, along with the Death-cum-Retirement Gratuity receivable by her on account of the services rendered by her deceased husband. 6. In view of the issuance of the Family Pension Order as well as the Gratuity Payment Order, the relief, as prayed for, by the petitioner in the present writ petition, Page No.# 3/3 has been granted to her. Accordingly, there being no further live issue arising in the present writ petition for adjudication, the present writ petition stands closed. 7. Copies of the Family Pension Payment Order and the Gratuity Payment Order, furnished by Mr. R K Talukdar, learned Standing counsel, Accountant General (A&E), Assam, are kept on record and marked as ‘X’ and ‘Y’, respectively, for the purpose of identification.
