THE ADVOCATE GENERAL The Court made the following order: (per Hon’ble Sri Justice R Raghunandan Rao) The case of the petitioner is that his daughter, Smt. K. Sirisha, has gone missing on 20.04.2022, after which a complaint was filed before the Station House Officer, Annavaram Police Station and the same was registered as Crime No.111 of 2022. The petitioner has approached this Court, by way of this Writ Petition, on 06.12.2022, contending that the official respondents are not taking proper action to free the detenue/missing person from the illegal 2 RRR, J & Dr. KMR, J W.P.No.39587 of 2022 detention of respondents 4 & 5, who are said to be the inlaws of the missing person. 2. This matter had been adjourned from time to time, over the last three years. 3. The Investigating Officer was also summoned to this Court for verification as to the steps taken for tracing the missing person. A detailed counter affidavit had been filed on 15.09.2023, setting out the steps taken for tracing the missing person. These steps included distribution of pamphlets, showing the photographs of the missing person in the areas and also deputing an Assistant Sub-Inspector with staff for verification in the close areas, including the areas around Kakinada. The counter affidavit further states that steps were also taken to verify the suspected social media accounts of a person, who was suspected to have had a hand in the missing person not being found. The statements, recorded in the course of investigation, were also attached to the counter affidavit filed by the Investigating Officer. 4. We are satisfied that the Investigating Officer has been taking steps for verifying the location of the missing person. 5. In the circumstances, we do not find any reason to keep this Writ Petition pending before this Court. 6. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is closed, leaving it open to the petitioner to approach this Court in the event of any fresh material being found 3 RRR, J & Dr. KMR, J W.P.No.39587 of 2022 and not acting upon by the Investigating Officer. There shall be no order as to costs.
