This anticipatory bail application under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, has been preferred by the petitioner apprehending his arrest in connection with Narkopi P.S. Case No.28 of 2024, for offences under Sections 406, 417, 420, 504, 323 and 506 IPC. The case is presently pending before the Court of learned J.M. 1st Class, Ranchi. 3. Admittedly, the offences are punishable for a period of seven years or less. 4. Learned counsel representing the petitioner submits that the petitioner has appeared before the Police answering the Notice under Section 35(3) of the BNSS and got his statement recorded. He further submits that the Police has not arrested the petitioner. 5. The aforesaid submission clearly suggests that there is no apprehension of the petitioner being arrested. Thus, the petitioner is directed to appear before the Court concerned and take appropriate steps in terms of the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme 2025:JHHC:17362 2 Court passed in the case of Satender Kumar Antil vs. Central Bureau of Investigation & Another, reported in (2022) 10 SCC 51, Satender Kumar Antil vs. Central Bureau of Investigation & Another, reported in (2024) 9 SCC 198. 6.
