Learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, states that petitioner has been paid principal amount of gratuity and now only interest on account of delayed payment of gratuity in terms of provision contained in the Grauity Act, remains to be paid.

Mr. Rajan Kahol, learned Additional Advocate General, fairly states that interest, if any, on account of delayed payment of gratuity, if not already paid, shall be paid, expeditiously, preferably, within two months.

Consequently, in view of the above, nothing remains to be adjudicated in the instant petition and as such, same is disposed of with direction to the respondents to ensure that interest, if any, on account of delayed payment of gratuity, shall be paid expeditiously,
- 2 - preferably, within two months, failing which, petitioner shall be further entitled to interest @6% p.a., over and above the amount otherwise payable in terms of Section 9 of the Gratuity Act. All pending applications stand disposed of.
