In this Writ Petition Petitioners pray for following reliefs:- (a) issue an appropriate writ or any other nature of writ, order or direction to the Respondent No.1 to provide continuous free electricity supply to the agriculturists to their agricultural pumps of near about 8689 villages, declared as scarcity villages Page No. 1 of 3 2 July 2025 25:BHC-AS:6-DB Megha 223_pil_32_2005.docx by the State Governing, as per the chart annexed as Exhibit ‘B’ hereto and allow the present Public Interest Litigation; (b) issue an appropriate writ or any other nature of writ, order or direction to the Respondent No.1 to discontinue free electricity supply to the agriculturists to the agricultural pumps other than the villages (Exhibit B hereto) declared by the State of Maharashtra as scarcity villages throughout the State of Maharashtra, and recover the expenses /costs from the concerned persons; (c) pending the hearing and final disposal of this Petition, this Hon’ble Court may be pleased to provide continuous free electricity supply to the agriculturists to their agricultural pumps of near about 8689 villages, declared as scarcity villages by the State Government, as per the chart annexed as Exhibit ‘B’ hereto. (d) Pending the hearing and final disposal of this Petition, this Hon’ble Court may be pleased to restrain Respondents to provide continuous free electricity supply to the agriculturists to the agricultural pumps other than the villages (Exhibit B hereto) declared by the State of Maharashtra as scarcity villages throughout the State of Maharashtra, and recover the expenses /costs from the concerned persons; Page No. 2 of 3 2 July 2025 Megha 223_pil_32_2005.docx (e) ad-interim and interim reliefs in terms of prayer clauses (c) and (d) above; (f) such other and further orders as this Honourable Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case.
