The Petitioner is before this Court seeking for the following reliefs: a. Issue an order, direction, writ in the nature of Certiorari quashing the impugned endorsement dated 10.03.2025 issued by the Respondent No.3/Tahsildar refusing to issue the caste certificate to the petitioner on the ground that it must be based only on the father’s caste vide Annexure-A, in the interest of justice. b. Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing the R3/Tahsildar to issue a Scheduled Tribe Caste certificate to the - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC-D:13191 WP No. 104830 of 2025 petitioner based on the caste of his mother, Smt. Shobha in the interest of justice and equity. c. And grant such other reliefs as this Hon’ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case in the interest of justice and equity. 2. Learned AGA has filed a memo enclosing two birth certificates of the petitioner; one registered on 8.7.2012 and the other registered on 8.3.2016. 3. There cannot be two birth certificates issued for the same person. 4. Learned AGA submits that necessary action would be taken to cancel one of them. 5.
