Neutral Citation No. ( 2025:JHHC:33918 ) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No. 9845 of 2025 ------ Pradeep Oraon, aged about 41 years, Son of Bahadur Oraon, Resident of Vill-Chitarpur, P.O. & P.S.-Balumath, Dist.-Latehar … … Petitioner -Versus - The State of Jharkhand ... … Opposite Party ------ CORAM: - HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE AMBUJ NATH ------ For the Petitioner : M/s. Nandan Prasad, Advocate For the State : M/s. Satish Prasad, A.P.P. ----- 02/13.11.2025 Heard the parties 2. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with S.T. Case No. 98A of 2014 arising out of Balumath P.S. Case No. 12 of 2008 corresponding to G.R. Case No. 62 of 2008, for the offences registered under Sections 395, 412 of the I.P.C., pending in the Court of learned Additional Sessions Judge-II, Latehar. 3. On 19.02.2008, at about 07:30 P.M., informant was waylaid by dacoits near Chorjhariya Ghati. Dacoits looted away cash, ornaments and other articles from the informant and other persons. The petitioner was identified as one of the dacoits. It appears that the petitioner had absconded for about 17 years. 4. It was submitted that some of the co-accused persons had faced trial and have been acquitted by the learned trial Court. It was further submitted that co-accused persons have been granted bail by different Co-ordinate Benches of this Court earlier. 5. Considering the fact that the petitioner has absconded for a considerable period of time, I am not inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail stands rejected, at this stage. (Ambuj Nath, J.) November 13, 2025 Nandini/- Uploaded
