ORAL ORDER
In this petition, petitioner has sought for the following relief:-
“ WHEREFORE it is respectfully prayed that this Hon'ble Court be pleased to quash the criminal proceedings in C.C.No.1163/2024 in connection with FIR Crime No.112/2023 of the Women Police Station, Chitradurga on the file of the I Addl. Senior Civil Judge and CJM, Chitradurga, for an offence P/U/S 323, 498-A, 504, 506 r/w Sec.34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Sections 3, 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, to serve the interest of justice and equity."

Learned counsel for the petitioner - accused No.1 and
learned counsel for respondent No.2 - informant/victim have filed Joint Memo dated 30.06.2025, duly signed by the petitioner, respondent No.2 and their respective counsel and the same is taken on record.
3. Petitioner - accused No.1, respondent No.2 - victim and their counsel are physically present before the Court and they admit the contents of the Joint Memo, which reads as under:-

“ JOINT MEMO
The above named petitioner and 2nd respondent herein begs submit as follows:
That the petitioner is husband of the 2nd respondent. That at the intervention of the elders and well-wishers and entering into Memorandum of Settlement in M.C.No.807/2025 by the petitioner and 2nd respondent, the Respondent No.2 is not interested in the matter of continuing the prosecution of C. C. No.1163/2024 (Crime No.112/2023) on the file of 1st Addl., Senior Civil Judge and JMFC Court, at Chitradurga for an offence punishable U/s 323, 498(A), 504, 506 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3 and 4 of DP Act against the petitioner of the Chitradurga Women Police Station and the Respondent No.2 filed the accompanying affidavit in respect of the same for kind perusal of this Hon'ble Court. Further, they desire to live peacefully and amicably in terms of the Memorandum of Settlement entered before the KMC, at Bangalore in M.C No.807/2025.
Wherefore, it is humbly prayed that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to record the compromise and quash the proceedings as prayed the petition, in the interest of justice.

4. In view of the aforesaid settlement entered into between the petitioner and respondent No.2, I pass the following:
ORDER (i) The petition is disposed of in terms of Joint Memo dated 30.06.2025. (ii) The proceedings in C.C.No.1163/2024 arising out of Crime No.112/2023 registered by respondent No.1 - Chitradurga Women Police Station for the offences punishable under Sections 323, 498-A, 504, 506 r/w Sec.34 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Sections 3, 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, pending on the file of the I Additional Senior Civil Judge and CJM, Chitradurga, insofar as the petitioner is concerned are hereby quashed.
