Heard counsel for the petitioners, learned Standing Counsel for the State-respondents and perused the records. 2. By means of the present petition, the petitioners have prayed for the following reliefs: "i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus to summon the record of election of Executive Committee of Volleyball Association dated 04.08.2024 which was registered by Deputy Registrar, Firms, Societies and Chits and quash the same, if any; (b) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the respondent to conduct the election of Uttar Pradesh Volleyball Association within stipulated period as fix by this Hon'ble Court." 3. If the petitioners are aggrieved by the election of the 'Volleyball Association', the remedy is to approach the Deputy Registrar, Firms, Societies and Chits under the Society Registration Act, 1860. The relief prayed for cannot be granted in exercise of power under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, until and unless a extraordinary case is made out. In the present case, the petitioners have failed to make out any extraordinary case calling for record of the Executive Committee of the 'Volleyball Association'. 4. In such view of the fact, the writ petition lacks merits and is, accordingly, dismissed. 5. However, it is left open to the petitioners to seek appropriate remedy available under law, if so advised.
