Chamu, District Jodhpur (Rajasthan) --- --- Petitioner Versus The State of Jharkhand --- --- Opp. Party --- CORAM: Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ambuj Nath --- For the Petitioner: M/s Sonali Bhattacharjee, Aman Kr. Rahul Anand Vikram, Advocates For the O.P-State: Mr. Gautam Rakesh, A.P.P. --- 03 / 08.12.2025 Heard the parties. 2. Petitioner has been made accused in connection with Arki P.S. Case No. 30 of 2022 corresponding to N.D.P.S. Case No. 44 of 2022 for the offences registered under sections 15/25 of the N.D.P.S. Act, pending in the court of learned District and Additional Sessions Judge-III at Khunti. 3. On 11.05.2022, Arki Police on the basis of confidential information intercepted a truck bearing registration no. RJ 19GC 2077 near Ulipidi More. On search, 101 bags of Doda weighing 2011.965 kg were recovered. Petitioner is said to have been apprehended while travelling on the said vehicle. 4. It was submitted that the petitioner is in custody since 12.05.2022. It was further submitted that co-accused Mahipal who was apprehended along with the present petitioner has been granted bail by a coordinate Bench of this Court. 5. Report regarding the stage of the trial earlier called for, has been received. It appears that out of seven charge sheeted witnesses, only two witnesses have been examined. Co-accused Mahipal has been granted bail on the basis of his period of custody and also on the ground of protracted trial of the case. 6. Considering the fact that similarly situated co-accused has been granted bail, I am inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, the petitioner, above named, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned District and Additional Sessions Judge-III at Khunti in connection with Arki P.S.
